As many of you know, Abby likes to walk everywhere. She can't do it on her own yet, but all she needs is a couple of fingers and she's off. In fact, last night she tried to run after Alex down the hall! The problem is, when it's cold or if it has rained recently, she can't walk outside barefoot or in her socks. And she LOVES being outside. I discovered this pair of shoes in a box of hand-me-downs from a friend. They fit perfectly and now she can walk around outside no matter the weather!

Abby in the Backpack
Progress Report
Well, it's our eleventh day in Utah. Unfortunately, we'll be hitting the road tomorrow. Before we leave, I thought I'd post a progress report.
hanging out with mom, grandma, and grandpa
gallivanting in the desert
Didn't get as far out as I would have liked, but we had a nice evening walk with the dogs in the foothills above dad's grave.
hiking in the mountains (or even just staring at the mountains)
Did plenty of both! Warm up hike to Silver Lake...
And a more substantial hike to Lower and Upper Red Pine Lakes...
biking up the canyons
Check. I managed to make it up both Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons once. Alex did Little twice and also went up Guardsman's Pass at the top of Big. Show off. Mom met us at the top of Big for a picnic lunch with Abby.
running the Top of Utah half marathon
Thank god that's over with!
celebrating our 4th anniversary
Dinner at Rodizio Grill and a late movie. Sigh. I wish we lived closer to Grandma...
climbing
We only managed one short day, but it was better than nothing! I think we need to get Abby a helmet.
visiting the Tracy Aviary
Abby's favorites were the ducks and the cuckoos. I thought the 50 year old Andean Condor was pretty cool myself.
enjoying the dry, humidity free, air
Ah yes. It's a little thin, but so pleasant!
introducing Abby to all our favorite Utahns
With a few sad exceptions (Lindsey), we were able to at least hug most of our long lost Utah friends.
celebrating my 30th (EEK!) birthday
